Dive Camera works locally on your Android device. It does not require an account and includes no advertising, analytics, or tracking SDKs. It does not send data to the developer or transmit data over the internet by itself.
Information and permissions
Camera access is required for the viewfinder, photos, and videos. Microphone access is optional and used only when you enable audio for video. The app may open Android or manufacturer settings so you can allow lock-screen display behavior.
Camera and microphone data are processed on the device only for the capture you request. Dive Camera does not sell this data or share it with the developer or third parties. The limited local technical log is described below.
Local settings and diagnostic logs
The app stores settings on your device, including the selected shutter button, camera, audio option, language, storage location, and app state needed for operation. If you select a custom folder, Android may retain the permission that lets Dive Camera write to that folder.
The app keeps a local diagnostic log. It may include the device manufacturer and model, Android version, event times, startup, lock and unlock events, permission results, camera selection, audio setting, storage-selection events, device-orientation changes, camera initialization, capture results, errors, and technical details of app crashes. For an uncaught crash, the log stores the error type, thread name, and stack frames belonging to Dive Camera; exception messages, paths, and URIs are not stored. It does not contain photos, videos, camera images, audio recordings, or media content.
Log entries older than 24 hours are removed the next time the app starts or a log is exported. The log remains in the app's private storage unless you deliberately export it by tapping the Dive Camera image five times in About. Export creates a temporary copy in the app cache and opens Android's share menu; a previous export copy is deleted when a new one is created and Android may clear cached files. You choose the receiving app or service, whose own privacy policy and terms then apply.
Files, retention, and deletion
By default, media is saved to DCIM/DiveCamera. You may select another folder through Android's system picker. Files remain on your device or in the selected storage location and may be accessible to gallery and file-manager apps, as well as backup or synchronization services configured by you.
Dive Camera keeps no remote copy of your media. You control retention and deletion through your gallery, file manager, storage provider, or device settings. Uninstalling the app deletes its private settings and logs but may not delete media saved in shared or selected storage.
Security and third parties
The app relies on Android's lock screen, permissions, storage, and sharing systems. No software can guarantee absolute security. Device manufacturers, Android, storage providers, and apps or services you choose to share with operate under their own privacy terms.
Children
Dive Camera is not designed specifically for children and does not create user profiles. It does not intentionally collect personal information from children or other users for the developer.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes, its text and effective date will be updated. Material changes will be brought to your attention in the app when reasonably possible. You may stop using the app and uninstall it if you do not agree with an updated policy.
